Thar: Death toll rises to 167 in 48 days

MITHI: Three more children on Wednesday have died in Civil Hospital Mithi, Capital of Tharparkar, after an outbreak of water borne and Food shortage diseases which has claimed the lives of at least 167 children during last 48 days while 72 others are still getting treatment in hospitals, TheNewstribe.com reported.

Anothertwo deaths in Mithi’s civil hospital rising the death toll of children to 167 in last 48 days, Also, some children have been transferred to Hyderabad in very critical condition.

Innocent children of Thar paying the price of the negligence of government authorities with their lives in the desert region of Sindh. Malnutrition, lack of healthcare facilities and scarcity of water are some factors pushing the children towards death.

Earlier almost a month ago, Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto has constituted a committee comprises of information adviser Moula Bux Chandio and food minister Nasir Shah to look into the situation in Thar but nothing has changed in that area rather death toll has been rising severely day by day.
