SHARJAH: Real hero of Peshawar Zalmi in the match against Karachi Kings, Darren Sammy has just revealed that he urged skipper Shahid Afridi to let him bowl the last over.
While talking to interviewer after the match, Darren Sammy said that Afridi was quite confused for who to give the ball to bowl last over, in which Karachi Kings required 13 runs with in form batsman Ravi Bopara on the crease.
Sammy, who had gone for 8 runs just two balls of that last over against Kings, came back very strongly and changed the game in his team’s favour by taking Bopara’s wicket on next ball and then defending remaining 5 runs on last three balls.
Courtesy his brilliance, Zalmi won the match by htree runs.
Earlier, he hit 18 runs of just 10 balls, coming to bat in last overs of the game.
Courtesy to Hafeez (59), Kamran Akmal (30), Afridi (17*) and Sammy (18*) Zalmi had posted a huge total of 183.
Karachi Kings had almost lost the game as their first five wickets were down for just 48 on the board in 9th over.
One-down batsman Vince (44) and Ravi Bopara ( 67) changed the game pretty much in Kings’ favour but unfortunately couldn’t win it.
