COAS signs death warrants of 12 hardcore terrorists

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Thursday has signed death sentences awarded to another twelve hardcore terrorist.

These terrorist were involved in committing heinous offences relating to terrorism, including breaking of Bannu Jail, attacks on Armed Forces, Law Enforcement Agencies and civilians, the Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR) reported.

Terrorists including Muhammad Arbi, Rafiullah, Qari Asif Mehmood, Shawaleh, Muhammad Zeeshan, Nasir Khan, Shoukat Ali, Imdadullah, Muhammad Umar, Sabir Shah, Khandan and Anwar Ali were tried by military courts.

According to ISPR, Muhammad Arbi S/O Hafiz Muhammad Sadiq was an active member of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). He was involved in abetting attack on Bannu Jail, owing to which large number of terrorists managed to escape from the jail and also caused injuries to police constables and soldiers.
