The world knows him as Abhishek Bachchan, but interestingly his original name is Abhishek Srivastav. The fact that Amitabh Bachchan’s father, the great poet Harivansh Rai preferred ‘Bachchan’ as his pen name, their surname Srivastav was replaced by ‘Bachchan’.
Abhishek has an interesting mix of culture at home. Bachchan senior is a Kayastha, whereas Abhishek’s mother veteran actress Jaya Bachchan is a Bengali. AB baby’s grandmother was a Punjabi, therefore, he certainly is blessed to have the best of everything.
According to reports, AB baby as a child suffered from a medical condition called dyslexia. He attended several schools in his childhood from Jamnabai Narsee School and Bombay Scottish School to Modern School in Vasant Vihar, New Delhi, and Aiglon College in Switzerland. It is believed he even attended Boston University for a brief period.
Besides emerging as a talented star, Abhishek also proved how well he can sing. The actor lent his voice in ‘Bluffmaster’ (2005) for a song called ‘Right Here Right Now’. The song with ace singer Sunidhi Chauhan went on to become quite a rage. His rap was loved by all.
Abhishek Bachchan is the proud owner of Pro Kabaddi League’s franchise team, Jaipur Pink Panthers, and also co-bought the Indian Super League football team Chennaiyin FC in 2014. His Kabaddi team Jaipur Pink Panthers even won the first ever championship held in 2014.
