Pakistan set 291 target for New Zealand in 3rd ODI

AUCKLAND: Grunted Pakistan have set a sizable target of291 for New Zealand to win the third and final One Day international at Eden Park, Auckland.

Pakistan skipper Azhar Ali opted to bat straightaway after winning the toss. Azhar himself along with Shehzad opened the inning and once again failed to produce a handy knock for the team. Pakistan had lost both its openers at 22 when Hafeez and young lad Babar Azam took the crese.

The both began to cruising New Zealand and with 100 runs partner ship in just 89 balls, the duo put Pakistan on the driving seat despite losing two early wickets.

When Hafeez (76) left the crease, Malik came in and carried the inning in similar way. He departed after scoring 32 runs, and after a few ball, Babar (83) left the crease.

Rizwan (12) and Sarfraz continued to fight but Rizwan was unlucky once again and went back to hut after being run out.

Sarfraz was joined by left arm quick Wahab Riaz who after showing some resistant to Kiwi’s furious short balls, went back with 11 runs in the bag.

Sarfraz continued his battle and took Pakistan’s score to 290.

It will be interesting to see how high-flying New Zealand respond to Pakistan’s total.
