ISLAMABAD: Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, Syed Khursheed Shah, Tuesday called upon the government to order judicial inquiry into militant attacks on Bacha Khan University and Peshawar’s Army Public School (APS).
Speaking to reporters at the Parliament House, Shah, who is a senior leader of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), urged the ruling PML-N to effectively enforce antiterrorism National Action Plan (NAP) and order judicial probe into the deadly militant attacks.
On December 16, 2014, Taliban militants massacred nearly 150 people, most of them schoolchildren, in Peshawar in country’s worst incident of terrorism.
Almost a year later, a similar attack on Bacha Khan University at Charsadda town of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa left 21 people dead.
“The government should answer as to why NAP is not being implemented, he said, asking “who is responsible for it?”
Regarding army chief Raheel Sharif’s decision to retire on time, the veteran politician said “it’s a good tradition.”
