KARACHI: COAS, an acronym for the Chief of the Army Staff, was trending top on twitter on Monday shortly after General Raheel Sharif, arguably the most powerful man in Pakistan, said he will step down from his office when his tenure ends.
Putting an end to speculations that he might accept extension in his tenure, the General said he doesn’t believe in extension.
While his announcement was widely welcome by political class, some social media users were slightly disappointed over the announcement, requesting him not to quit.
