Afridi breaks into top 10 in new ICC T20 ranking

Dubai: The International Cricket Council (ICC) released the latest ICC players rankings following the third and final T20 game between New Zealand and Pakistan.

No Pakistan batsman features in the top 10 batsman rankings, while skipper Shahid Afridi moves from 4th to 3rd in the bowlers rankings.

The latest T20 batsmen rankings feature Australia’s Aaron Finch at 1st, India’s Virat Kohli at 2nd, England’s Alex Hales at 3rd, South Africa’s Faf Du Plessis at 4th and kiwi openers Guptill and Kane Williamson at 5th and 6th respectively.

Despite having not featured in the national side for quite a while now, Chris Gayle maintais 7th position. Zimbabwe’s explosive batsman Hamilton Maskadza is 8th, UAE’s Mohammad Shahzad 9th and Sri Lanka’s Thisara Perrara 10th.

On the other hand, the latest bowlers rankings showcase West Indies spinner Samuel Badree stands tall at 1st, India’s Ravichandran Ashwin is at 2nd, Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi 3rd, Sri Lankas Senanayake 4th, Zimbabwean Graeme Cremer 5th, Aussie paceman Mitchell Starc 6th, Sri Lankan skipper Lasith Malinga 7th, kiwi McClenaghan 8th, Protean Imran Tahir 9th and Afghanisan’s Zardan 10th.

In the all-rounders department, Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan is no. 1, Pakistan’s Shahid Afridi no.2, Aussie Shane Watson no.3, Pakistan’s Mohammad Hafeez no.4, Sri Lanka’s ODI skipper Angelo Matthews no.5, West Indian Marlon Samuels no.6, Protean JP Duminy no.7, India’s Yuvraj Singh no.8, , West Indian Dwayne Bravo no.9 and Aussie Glenn Maxwell no.10.
