KASUR: At least 16 people were killed and 10 others were wounded when a passenger van plunged into a link canal in Changa Manga area of Kasur district.
The death toll, it is feared, could go up as some of those injured were in critical condition.
According to Rescue officials, the speeding van veered off the road and fell into the canal when one of its tyres burst near a small bridge near Changa Manga.
The ill-fated van was traveling to Pattoki from Raiwand.
Three women and a child were among the victims.
According to sources, most of the victims belonged to Adan village of Pattoki
