SYDNEY: Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell is in doubt for the fifth One Day International (ODI) against India at Sydney Cricket Ground, Sydney on Saturday after he was hit on the knee during his cameo in the home team’s fourth consecutive win in the cricket series, The NewsTribe.com learnt from international media.
Maxwell was struck on the right knee during the early stages of his entertaining blitz, which helped Australia post a challenging 348 for eight at the Manuka Oval.
The white ball hit Maxwell on an unprotected area as he bent his right leg in an attempt to work a ball from Ishant Sharma on the leg side.
Cricket Australia said the blow had caused some swelling and discomfort in Maxwell’s knee and that he would be assessed in the coming days.
Australia has already sealed the 5 match series with 4 consecutive promising victories against the India and now she will looking for a white wash in the series by winning the Sydney clash.
