Bacha Khan University attack: KP to observe three-day mourning

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government lead by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Wednesday has announced three-day mourning over terror attack on Bacha Khan University,  Charsadda which took 22 lives and injured 60 others, TheNewsTribe.com reported.

The national flag will remain at half mast at all government buildings in the province for three days.

Awami National Party (ANP) also announced 10-day mourning after terror attack at Bacha Khan University Saddar Campus in Charsadda.

ANP senior leader Asfand Yar Wali has slammed government over National Actiona Plan (NAP) and blamed that NAP has not been implemented with full of heart, he added that government should not let any banned outfit to work with some different name.

Earlier former provincial information minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and senior leader of Awami National Party (ANP) blamed KP-government for terror attack at Bacha Khan University at Charsadda.

Mian Iftikhar Hussain condemned the terror attack on university and expressed grief over the deaths of students.

Almost at 9: 30 am today, a group of terrorist attacked Bacha Khan University Saddar campus in Charsada.

Law enforcement agencies and rescue teams had rushed to the university campus, while eye witnesses said that gunfire can be heard from university premises. Four major blasts were also heard from inside.

According to reports, the university campus and hostels were being evacuated and people from surrounding areas have been instructed to avoid coming closer to the university.

At least twenty people, one of which was identified as a chemistry professor, has embraced martyrdom in the attack. Other dead were supposed to be university students and security guards.
