Qaim defends criminal prosecution bill

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah on Saturday has defended the criminal prosecution bill approved by Sindh Assembly to empower prosecution to withdraw any case against a suspect with the consent of the court, TheNewsTribe.com learnt from local media.

While talking to media after Passing out Parade of Police Eaglet Force in Karachi CM said that wrong perception is being created against the newly adopted bill, which is declared a “black law” by opposition parties in the province.

Under the criminal prosecution bill, he said, the final decision to withdraw any case would be taken by the court.

While replying to a question, the chief minister said that apex committee discussed weak prosecution, adding that there is a need to strengthen the process of prosecution.

Replying to another query, Shah said that there is no difference between Teheek-e-Taliban Pakistan and Daesh as they both are terrorists group. The government is fighting both the groups, he added.
