LAHORE: Key suspect in Imran Farooq murder case Khalid Shamim has confessed to kill former MQM leader and said Mohammad Anwer, not Altaf Hussain instructed for murder.
According to details, both suspects were presented in court today before Magistrate Captain (r) Muhammad Shoaib. Khalid Shamim was the first one to have his confessional statement recorded, which took four hours.
During this time, Khalid Shamim was asked to think thoroughly regarding his confessional statement.
Afterwards, suspect Mohsin Ali recorded his confessional statement. After they had recorded their statements, both suspects were sent on judicial remand to Adiala Jail.
Mohsin confessed before magistrate that he held Imran Farooq from behind and Kashif Kamran, the third suspect who is unseen so far, stabbed former MQM leader to death.
Dr Imran Farooq was known for his association with the Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) and had been living in self-imposed exile in London. He was brutally murdered in September 2010, near his residence.
The case had been handed over to the Scotland Yar, who had conducted a detailed investigation into Farooq’s murder According to details, Dr Imran Farooq was murdered by being stabbed and also hit with a brick.
