HANGU: Nation all across the country is observing second death anniversary of Aitzaz Hasan, a teenage student who sacrificed his life tackling a suicide bomber in an attempt to save the lives of over 2000 schoolmates in Hangu.
The 17-year-old Aitzaz was playing with friends outside school when they saw a man wearing a suicide vest heading towards the school. Aitzaz was then warned by fellow students not go near the bomber but the teenaged hero decided to face the fear and confront the apparent suicide bomber.
Hassan and the bomber died but no other students or staffs were hurt, police said.
According to reports, banned outfit Lashkar-e-Jhangvi had claimed the responsibility of this terrorist attack.
The area where Hasan lived is home to many members of the minority Shiite Muslim sect who have often been killed by militants who view them as heretics.
