Key evidence against Zardari in assets reference disappear

ISLAMABAD: Main evidences against former president Asif Ali Zardari in assets reference case have disappeared, increasing the likelihood of his acquittal in the case.

According to details, documents comprising at least 300 pages have disappeared from the file number 4 of the reference against the former president.

Reportedly, the lost pages carried National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Investigating Officer’s report and witnesses’ testimonies.

The sources said that the court personnel are busy looking for the lost documents while the likelihood of his acquittal in the reference has also increased.

The statement of key witness Madina Munawara could also not be recorded because of the disappearance of documents.
