JeM involved in Air Base attack: Indian media

NEW DELHI: Indian media on Saturday has claimed that terrorists who attacked the Indian Air Base in PathanKot, Indian Punjab, belonged to Jaish-e-Mohammad, banned outfit in Pakistan

According to details from NDTV, The attack is suspected to have been carried out by the terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Also they claimed that attackers from Bhawalpur, District of Punjab, Pakistan were asked to destroy assets at the base.

Police told media that terrorists, with huge quantity of RDX in their possession, made their way to Air Force base from back side where there is a jungle.

At least 6, 7 terrorists on Saturday morning have launched a terror attack on the Indian Air Force base in PathanKot.

2 Indian Air Force personnel have lost their lives in the attack, 6 are injured while 4 terrorists have been killed in retaliation.

Terrorists entered the Base in military get up and media has quoted that the vehicle which has been used in the attack was snatched from Suprintendent Police (SP) in GurdasPur area yesterday.

All the area of PathanKot and nearby areas has been cordon off after the incident.

The gunfire started at around 3:30 am, authorities said, adding that an official car was used to launch the attack. The incident is being seen as connected to the hijacking of a police car a day ago.
