Shahryar-Amir

LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Shahryar Khan has stated on Thursday that talented left arm pacer Mohammad Amir will be  picked for New Zealand tour.

In a brief talk with media in Lahore, PCB chairman siad  “Amir’s performance is so good there’s no option but to include him in the team.”

Earlier, Chief selector Haroon Rasheed has edged Amir over rest of fast bowlers in the circuit statin g that Amir is an exception.

Haroon also backed Amir’s talent and his return in national side saying, “There is always a difference between normal and extraordinary players”.

Rasheed’s endorsement of Amir is a clear sign the 23-year-old pacer will be included in the Pakistan team for its upcoming series against New Zealand.

“We are not undermining other players and forcing him [back] but there is always a difference between normal and extraordinary players. We are not axing anyone to bring him in. They are all part of the circuit and part and parcel of our planning,” Rasheed said while talking to ESPNcricinfo.

It was reported earlier this morning that Mohammad Amir has got visa clearance from NZ embassy which probably was the last hurdle for his pick in the team.

Head Coach Waqar Younis himself has stated that he was very excited about Mohammad Amir’s return in the team.

PCB has not disclosed squad for NZ tour yet, but, from above statements, it is clear that Amir will ark his international return against New Zealand in January 2016.
