Pillion riding banned for two days in Karachi

KARACHI: The Sindh government has imposed a two-day ban on pillion-riding in Karachi from today (Wednesday) midnight to Friday.

The Sindh Home Department has also issued a notification in this regard.

The ban will come into effect from 12 midnight today and will be effective till Jan. 1, 2016 (Friday). However, women, children, senior citizens and journalists will be exempted from the ban.

Under the ban, aerial firing, display of arms, removal of silencer of motorcycles and one-wheeling of bikes would not be allowed under Section 144.

The government said the ban was imposed to maintain security on the New Year night.
