When milk gets sour, we generally deem it wasted and many of mourn over this fact. But interestingly, sour milk has its own uses.
Here are few of the amazing uses of sour milk,
Churn out cottage cheese
The main ingredient to make cottage cheese is sour milk. Cook the sour milk in a double boiler and separate the whey. Gather it into a bundle and hang it to drain the excess water.
Use it as a substitute
Sour milk can be used as a substitute for recipes that call for buttermilk, yogurt or sour cream such as creamy gravies or casserole recipes.
Make scrambled eggs
You can use sour milk to make creamier scrambled eggs. Pour some sour milk instead of normal milk into the egg and whip it up. Once it gets cooked, you won’t be able to make out the difference; plus it will lend a great texture to your dish.
Make a face pack
Sour milk has good enzymes that are extremely beneficial for the skin. It is also a common ingredient in facial masks that makes your skin smoother. Apply some sour milk on your skin and leave it for a few minutes to let it work its magic.
Make chocolate milk
Add some cocoa and sugar to sour milk and blend it with ice cream and a little milk for a luscious beverage of chocolate milk. This way you won’t taste the sourness and won’t have to waste it either.
Whip up an egg custard
Egg custard is a simple dessert that is made with eggs and milk but if you’ve got a lot of sour milk at your disposal, use it to whip this dessert and you won’t know the difference once it’s cooked.
