LODHRAN: Voting is underway for by-elections in National Assembly constituency NA-154 Lodhran on Wednesday, TheNewsTribe.com reported.
General Secretory of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Jahangir Khan Tareen and Sadiq Baloch of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) are contesting the election.
The polling begun at 8:00 am and will continue till 5:00 without any break.
Earlier, Lahore High Court (LHC) declared PML- candidate Sadiq Baloch eligible to compete for by-elections in NA-154 Lodhran
According to details, 3-member bench of Lahore High Court gave verdict in favor of Sadiq Baloch after hearing the case for three and a half hour while the lawyers of both parties gave their arguments.
Sadiq Baloch was declared disqualified by a 2-member bench of LHC for concealing his assets a few days ago.
Sadiq Baloch then approached three members larger bench consisting of Justice Mamoon Ur Rasheed, Justice Mehmood Afzal and Justice Shahid Mubeen. After the short verdict from LHC, Sadiq Baloch will now be competing by-polls going to be held on December 23.
