LHC dismisses petition against PCB head

shehryar

LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday has dismissed a filed petition for termination of Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Shaharyar Khan over his approach to revive the bilateral cricket ties with India, for being not maintainable.

Justice Shahid Karim said the petition was not maintainable before the court and directed the petitioner to approach relevant forum for the required relief.

Mohammad Ali Gillani, the petitioner, had pleaded that Shaharyar as PCB chairman held talks with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on reviving bilateral cricket series, but in a disgraceful manner.

The petitioner further pleaded that PCB chairman did not take the government into confidence before initiating official correspondence with his counterparts (for the proposed cricket series), a stance the petitioner reckoned tarnished Pakistan’s image in the world.
