ECP dismisses Jahangir Tareen’s objection

ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Saturday has rejected Pakistan Tehreek-Insaf (PTI) leader Jahangir Tareen’s objection over allotting an electoral symbol ‘Batsman’ to an independent candidate.

A four-member commission led by chief election commissioner heard objections raised by Jahangir Tareen, a PTI’s candidate for by-election in NA-154.

The lawyer of Tareen said that Returning Officer allotted an electoral symbol ‘batsman’ to an independent candidate. He further said that the name of the candidate is Shahid Jahangir but his name was written Jahangir Khan.
