Visa clearance last hurdle for Amir’s international return

Amir

LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shahryar khan on Friday has allowed tainted fast bowler Mohammad Amir to join 30-men fitness camp for New Zealand tour.

Amir recently played Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) and Pakistan’s leading first class Quaid-e-Azam trophy to prove his performance and fitness.

According to PCB chairman, if Amir gets visa clearance, he can be included in national team for New Zealand tour.

“PCB has decided to invite 30 players to join training camp at Lahore’s National Cricket Academy (NCA) including youngsters Sharjeel Khan and Roman Raees, and pacer Muhammad Amir.”

The selection committee still has to announce a squad for New Zealand tour which will start from January 15. The teams will play three ODI and three T20 games just ahead of beginning of Pakistan Super League (PSL).

If Muhammad Amir joins PCB’s proves his fitness and positive attitude towards other fellow cricketers there are strong chances of his inclusion in squad for New Zealand tour.

On the other hand, left-arm pacer has also started consultations with his lawyers to assure his comeback in the national team next month.

“He is busy consulting his lawyers and wanted some time off to discuss with them the legal hitches he might face if selected to play for Pakistan again,” said a source close to Amir, quoted by Press Trust India.
