Pakistan A suffers a series loss against England Lions

DUBAI: After the recent defeat of Pakistan Senior team in One Day Internationals ODIs and suffering from white wash in 3 match T20 series against England, now Pakistan A lost their five-match T20 series 3-2 against English Lions.

Visitors England Lions won the series decider match in the Super Over by four runs  at the International Cricket Council (ICC) Academy in Dubai on Wednesday.

Pakistan A needed 13 runs in the super over but only managed to score 8 runs for the loss of 1 wicket, Sharjeel Khan, Sohaib Maqsood and Iftikhar were the batters from home side and Tom Curran was the bowler from the visitors side in the super over who won the situation under pressure nd won the trophy for their side in the nail biting contest.

Earlier, skipper Junaid Khan conceded 12 runs in the Super Over.

Pakistan A’s innings was restricted to only 165 runs in the quota over and in reply visitors scored the same digits and match tied, match went on to super over where Lions hold nerves and won the contest.

The fifth match was befitting of a finale, with both teams fighting it out till the very end after coming into the match squared at 2-2.

Needing 13 off six, the Pakistan trio of Sharjeel Khan, Sohaib Maqsood and Ifitkhar Ahmed — who just stood at the non-striker’s end for two deliveries — could only manage 8-1 as Tom Curran bowled well under pressure.
