December 16: NA recommends government to observe ‘Children Day’ every year

ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly of Pakistan on Wednesday has recommended government to observe December 16 as ‘Pakistan Children Day’ every year in the memory of APS attack martyrs.

National Assembly also passed a unanimous resolution presented by Minister for Climate Change Zahid Hamid, expressing profound grief and sadness about the deadly incident.

The House strongly condemned the brutal attack, which was a crime against humanity and once again expressed deepest sympathy with the families of the victims.

The resolution noted with appreciation that pursuant of that dastardly attack, military action against terrorists in the form of operation Zarb-e-Azb launched by our valiant armed forces proved to be successful.

It said in recognition of the national unity forged by this heart rendering tragedy which has further strengthened the firm resolve of the people of Pakistan to fight, destroy and eliminate the perpetrators of this tragedy.

The House recommended that 16th December should be observed as Pakistan Children Day in memory of the martyrs. It also added that Dua for the martyrs and peace and prosperity of the country should be offered every year in all the educational institutions of the country.

Earlier this day the House offered fateha for martyrs of Army Public School Peshawar when the session began.
