CHITRAL: Hundreds of passengers are stranded in bone-chilling weather after a road leading to Chitral was closed due to heavy rain and snowfall on mountains.
Passengers trapped in the area asked the authorities to open Lowari Tunnel so that they can reach their destination.
The Lowari Tunnel was constructed keeping in view hardships of people travelling to others parts of the country during snowfall.
Lowari Pass which is also known as Lowari Top more than 10,000 is a high mountain pass that connects Chitral with Dir in Khyber Pakhtunkhwah (KPK), Pakistan. Lowari Top is a relatively low pass, by far the lowest pass to enter Chitral, the rest all being 12,000 to 15,000 feet.
Every year, thousands of visitors come to visit this marvelous place.
