ICC World T20: High commissioner hopes for Pak-India final

NEW DELHI: Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit on Snnday has said that he is very hopeful that India and Pakistan would meet in the finals of the International Cricket Council (ICC) World T20 in Kolkata, India on April 3 next year.

According to details, he was talking to India Today’s Consulting Editor Rajdeep Sardesai in Agenda Aaj Tak, Basit said that he looked forward to the Indo-Pak bilateral cricket series, to which the Indian government was yet to give a green signal.

“I hope both teams (India and Pakistan) will be playing in the finals,” Basit said.

“We expect that there will be positive response. The cricket series might just help in improving the bilateral ties,” he added.

India will be hosting the sixth edition of the global T20 event starting March 8.
