KARACHI: Disgruntled leader of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) an former interior minister Sindh, Dr Zulfiqar Mirza has said that dispute between federation and Sindh government over Rangers powers and corruption cases in Sindh will end on former PPP chairman Asif Ali Zardari’s hanging.
Dr Zulfiqar Mirza was speaking in Dr Shahid Masood’ show on Saturday.
While talking in the programme, Mirza said PPP has been hesitating in extending Rangers policing powers in Sindh because they know that Dr Asim’s case will lead it to Asif Ali Zardari and other senior leadership.
“They would never like to extend Rangers powers because Rangers is investigating corruption now, however, if they don’t extend powers, they will lose their own powers too.” He added.
Mirza went on to say that Nawaz Sharif can only go to limited extent to protect his political commitment with Zardari, but when he will feel danger to his own seat, he will never risk it.”
Dr Zulfiqar Mirza further stated that Asif Ali Zardari has himself dug his own grave by protecting Dr Asim, now matter has worsen so much that emergency can be imposed any time in Sindh.
On the other hand, adviser to CM Sindh, Maula Bux Chandio has stated that not PPP, it is federation who wants to complicate Rangers’ power case.
He assured media that decision on Rangers power extension will be finalised in Sindh ASsembly on Monday.
