ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Sunday condemned the “abhorrent and tragic” shooting in San Bernardino, California in the strongest possible terms.
“We offer sincere condolences to the families and friends of the victims in this act of terrorism,” a statement from the Foreign Office said.
In a brazen attack, a US born citizen and his spouse killed 14 people on Wednesday at a social services agency in San Bernardino, California.
“Our thoughts, prayers and deepest sympathies are with those injured in the incident. We sincerely wish them an early recovery from their physical and mental trauma,” the statement said.
The Foreign Office pointed to the loss of precious lives in the tragic incident, which, it said, were irreversible and unfortunate.
“We hope that the investigations would lead the US authorities to bring the perpetrators and abettors of this act to justice.”
“The people of Pakistan, being worst victims of terrorism over the years, share the grief of the people of the United States and stand by them in their pain and suffering,” the Foreign Office said.
