RAWALPINDI: Awami Muslim League (AML) head Sheikh Rashid on Saturday accepted his party’s defeat in the third and final phase of Local Government elections held in his constituency in Rawalpindi.

Appearing in SAMAA’s prime time current affairs show “Nadeem Malik Live”, Rashid said that he was hoping to win at least 13 seats in NA-55, but could manage three to four seats.

“Things have changed a lot. Now we are witnessing a democracy powered by money,” Rashid told Nadeem Malik.

He said that too much development work was carried out by the government in his area before the elections.

“How I could oppose the development work, which was beneficial for people,” he questioned.

To a question, he said that he had information about the results of  NA-56, where PML-N Chairman Imran Khan won in the general elections. “I have no idea what happened there,” he said.

On the other hand, PMLN leader Haneef Abbasi was all smiling and cheering when he was interviews on TV, he was confident to clean-sweep in Rawalpindi.
