LAHORE: After legendary fast bowler Waseem Akram, his former colleague and head coach of Pakistan Cricket Team, Waqar Younis has voiced in favour of tainted fast bowler Mohammad Amir.
Waqar Younis on Thursday stated Mohammad Amir has completed his punishment for what he did, and he should be given second chance.
Pakpassion.net quoted him as saying “Mohammad Amir has served five years of punishment and he deserves a second chance.”
Earlier today, PCB Chairman Shahryar Khan also praised Amir’s performance and said he was knocking at the door of recall into the national side.
“We’re considering Amir for national team. Performance has been very good & he’s knocking on the door for a recall.” PCB Chairman.
Waseem Akram had also backed Amir’s international return stating that “His return to International cricket is not in the hands of individuals who may or may not want him back.”
