Malala leaves behind Obama, Modi in TIME’s Person of the Year 2015

Twitter

WASHINGTON: Nobel Peace laureate Malala Yousafzai, on second place, is far ahead of global figures such as US President Barack Obama and Pope Francis on TIME’s coveted Person of the Year readers’ choice polls.

World figures are currently outnumbering influential leaders in politics and entertainment in the current top 10 of the TIME Person of the Year readers’ choice poll.

Although Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders is currently leading the poll, global figures take five of the top ten spots in the final week of voting.

TIME’s editors will choose the Person of the Year who they believe most influenced the news this year for better or worse. The winner of the poll will be announced on December 7.
