billings

DUBAI: England have thumped Pakistan by 14 in first Twenty 20 (T20) game of the three-math series at Dubai International Stadium, Dubai.

Chasing 161, no batsman of Pakistan could stay on the crease for a bit longer and a strong batting line up kept loosing wickets at regular interval, loosing the match in the end.

Sohaib (24) and Tanvir (25*) were only prominent scorers from Pakistan.

Skipper Afridi got a duck again.

Earlier, Courtesy to skipper Morgan and Vince, England have put up a fighting total of 161.

After winning the toss, skipper Morgan opted to bat first on what looked a batting-friendly pitch but lost three quick wickets which put them on back foot.

Morgan, then posted a much needed 76 runs partnership to bring his team from 21/3 to 97/4 as Vince succumbed to Wahab’s pace-less ball on 42.

Morgan was then joined by Billings on the crease, he took on Pakistani bowlers straightaway.

Billings started baton charge and scored 53 runs on 26 balls in the last part of the innings.

He along with former two, helped England to post a fighting total of 160/5 after loosing three early wickets.

Anwer Ali bowled brilliantly giving just 29 runs in his 4 over for 2 wicket. Sohail Tanvir was the other gem with 31 and 2 wickets.

It will be interesting to see how Pakistan will chase this target.
