MUMBAI: At least seven schoolgirls were dismissed from Indian government school for drinking beer in the classroom.
According DNAIndia.com, girls have now been dismissed from school for this act reports a leading daily.
The girls were apparently given transfer certificates on Monday as per the instructions of the chief educational officer S Gopidoss, added the report. November 16 was declared a holiday by the principal due to the excessive rains and exams were also postponed to November 21.
It looks like around seven students who were in Class 11 came to the school to celebrate a birthday and got beer in soft drink bottles.
The students were later found drunk in the classroom by the class teacher. She informed the headmistress and they took them to the hospital.
