KARACHI: Paramilitary troops on early Monday morning conducted an operation in Essa Nagri’s area of Karachi and surrounding areas detaining more than 30 suspects while weapons were seized from their possession.
The personnel carried out an operation on a tip-off and besieged PIB Colony s Essa Nagri area. Heavy contingents of Pakistan Rangers seized entry and exit points of the locality. At least 30 suspects have been shifted to undisclosed location for interrogation.
Separately, at least three terrorists were gunned down in Baghdadi. Militants engaged the Rangers as they raided the area, Dunya News reported.
City Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Fida Hussain said that as many as three operatives of Uzair Baloch group were killed. Weapons were recovered from the killed miscreants, Jabbar alias Dada, Abdul Raheen alias Rani and Rizwan alias Rado.
SSP Hussain said that the militants were planning an attack during local body (LB) polls. Killed terrorists were wanted in several cases of extortion, grenade attacks and target killings.
