KARACHI: Sindh government has reportedly taken decision to deploy major part of Karachi police in interior Sindh in order to ensure ‘foolproof security’ during the second phase of local bodies election, leaving the metropolis dangerously vulnerable.
“Inspector General of Police (Sindh) Ghulam Haider jamali has summoned all the senior superintendents to Hyderabad headquarters on 18th and 19th November –election days. And they have also been instructed to not come alone but bring along with them as many cops as they can,” reported Samaa.
In other words Karachi would be left off guard.
Last week, Sindh Minister for Local Government, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah had said that the provincial government will try its best keep the violence at bay during the polls but experts say the consequences of rendering Karachi security thin could be devastating.
“They will have to give this move some serious second thought. A lot is at stake here,” an analysts said fearing terrorism and a surge in street crime on those two days.
