ABU DHABI: Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Shaharyar Khan has approved inclusion of Iftikhar Ahmed in One Day squad, TheNewsTribe.com reported.
Earlier, team management calls Iftikhar Ahmed to replace Younis Khan who retired from ODI cricket yesterday.
Younis started ODI career on February 13, 2000 against Sri Lanka in Karachi cricket stadium. He has played 264 ODI matches so far and scored 7240 runs. He hammered 48 fifties and 7 centuries.
Iftikhar Ahmed contributed his best part in the recent National T20 Cup and lifted the trophy being a part of Peshawar Region and now also he was considered for Pakistan T20 side against England.
Younis Khan’s immediate retirement announcement made way for talented Pakistani skull to show his skills to highest level in the game.
it is to be kept in mind that Pakistan has defeated England in the first ODI match easily by six wickets courtesy of Hafeez’s ton.
