OGRA sends proposal to Petroleum Ministry for hike in gas prices

ISLAMABAD: Oil and Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has on Wednesday sent a proposal for hike in gas prices to the Ministry of Petroleum.

According to details, Sui Northern proposed the increase of Rs 12 in the financial year 2012-13 and proposed Rs 37 increase per MMBTU in the financial year 2013-14.

On the other side Sui Southern proposed the increase of Rs 38 in the financial year 2012-13 and for the financial year 2013-14, it proposed Rs 52 per MMBTU increase

If Ministry of petroleum approved the proposed recommendations then the consumers will suffer an additional burden of Rs 18 Billion.
