ISLAMABAD: Four Member of National Assembly (MNA) belonging to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to cast their vote in favour of Shafqat Mahmood on Monday.
According to details, four MNA belonging to PTI Nasir Khattak, Siraj Khan, Musarat Zaib and Gulzar Khan not cast their votes in favour of Shafqat Mahmood.
Earlier, Pakistan Muslim League’s senior leader Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has won the election for Speaker National Assembly by 268 votes.
Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf’s Shafqat Mehmood was hi opponent who secured 31 votes.
Prime Minister Miyaan Mohammad Nawaz Sharif kicked off ballets by casting first vote.
PTI chairman Imran Khan also came to National Assembly after six month to cast his vote.
Electoral process started at 9 in the morning and continued for 4 hours.
Independent candidate from FATA, Ghazi Ghulab Jamal, had withdrawn his nomination papers in favor of Sardar Ayaz Sadiq.
All the main political parties, including PPP, MQM, JUI-F, Jamaat-e-Islami, as well as independent members from FATA have announced support for the PML-N candidate.
