Quran holds many things in itself, from advises to admonishes, promises of bounties to promises of punishment and hundreds of miracles as well. The miracles of Quran are unfolding with time and it has been revealed that Quran has a strong relationship with Science and it is being proved again and again.
Here are a few miracles of Quran, which have vindicated scientific theories.
Solar System
Science claims that celestial bodies are moving in orbits. Quran claimed this thousands of years ago. “It is He Who created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon. They swim along, each in an orbit. ” (21:33)
Mountains
Science has established the theory that a super continent has been split into smaller continents 180 million years ago. Since the split, all the continents are constantly floating on the surface of Earth like huge ships on ocean. Each year, the ratio of the sea and land change at several centimeters. The phenomenon is known as Continental Drift. It was mentioned in Quran as the ‘movement of the mountains’.
Furthermore, after the movement of tectonic plates, mountains literally fly from their place, as it happened in various earthquakes. This has been claimed by Quran as, “The Motion of the Mountains – “You will see the mountains you reckoned to be solid going past like clouds.” (27:88)
Barrier between the seas
Science has discovered that the neighboring seas meet but cannot get mixed because of surface tension, which pulls the water waves from both sides and thus prevents the water to be mixed. Quran established this fact ages ago, “He has let loose the two seas, converging together, with a barrier between them they do not break through.” (55:19-20)
Iron is not intrinsic to this planet
It is a surprising discovery science has made recently that Iron, being one of the abundant element of the Earth is not native to it. They came to earth when the earth was hit by meteorites billions of years ago and those celestial bodies were carrying loads of iron.
Quran says, “And We sent down iron in which there lies great force and which has many uses for mankind….” (57:25)
Identity in the Fingerprint
Every individual has a set of fingerprints that is exclusive to none but him or herself. They are the identity of that person. We discovered the unique feature of our fingerprints in 19th century whereas Quran declared it ages ago, “Yes, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers.” (75:3-4)
Oceans
Science has discovered that ocean is comprised of two kinds of waves, internal waves and surface waves. Furthermore, 200 meters below the ocean surface there is no light.
Quran says, “Or (the unbelievers’ state) are like the darkness of a fathomless sea which is covered by waves, above which are waves, above which are clouds, layers of darkness, one upon the other.” (24:40)
