Pakistan vs England 3rd Test 4th day Highlights: Hosts make a comeback again

SHARJAH: Courtesy to Malik’s 2-8, Pakistan have make a solid comeback in the game as England finish the fourth day on 46-2, chasing 284 target, on fourth day of the third and final Test at Sharjah Cricket stadium, Sharjah.

England were off to an aggressive start in the final inning but Malik removed Meen for the second time in the inning and then clean bowled Ian Bell for naught, bringing his team back in the game.

Earlier, England removed Pakistan batting line up on 355 runs in second inning.

Stuart Broad took 3-44.

Pakistan resumed their inning from 146-3 when Hafeez survived some anxious moments as leg-spinner Adil Rashid trapped him in front of the wicket with the first ball of the day.

England challenged New Zealand umpire Chris Gaffaney’s not out decision but television umpire Paul Reiffel of Australia upheld the verdict.

One ball later Hafeez charged down the wicket against a googly from Rashid but missed the ball completely. However wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow missed a stumping chance and the ball went for four byes.

Hafeez swept Rashid in the next over for a single to reach his century off 169 balls, his second at the Sharjah venue.

At the other end Pakistan lost nightwatchman Rahat Ali, caught off paceman James Anderson without scoring. Anderson so far has figures of 2-45.

Skipper of Pakistan Test team Misbah ul Haq failed to get rid of red cherry and lost his wicket after scoring 38 runs. Broad took his wicket and gave his team a big break through and after a couple of overs Mohammad Hafeez and left crease with huge disappointment.

Professor after making 151 runs tried to play lofted shot but caught on a boundary. Moeen Ali took his wicket. Pakistan team is 187 ahead from visitors and lost their six wickets including night watchman Rahat Ali.

As first session of the belonged to Pakistan, the second one and then few post tea overs were enough for England to remove Pakistan’s lower middle order and tail.

Pakistan lost last five wickets for hundred runs.

England still need 238 runs to win with 8 wickets in hand and a day to bat.

Final day of the match will be very interesting to watch.
