Are you worried about your ageing skin? This is a natural phenomenon which everyone has to undergo. But there are a few food items that slow down the ageing process your skin has to endure.

Here is the list of these items,

Yogurt

It is an excellent source of protein and calcium and helps prevent muscle and bone loss. Also it provides us with billions of good bacteria in our stomach. These bacteria help break down our food and also help get rid of toxins. Make sure you have at least two servings of yoghurt. For best results consume it at room temperature.

Dark Chocolate

Dark chocolate with high cocoa content can actually be very beneficial. It contains minerals like iron, copper, magnesium, manganese, potassium, phosphorus, zinc and selenium. It is also an excellent source of antioxidants which will helps prevent the damage done by free radicals. Cocoa beans, from which chocolate is made, have a higher antioxidant capacity than any other food, and the high concentration of antioxidant flavanols in cocoa beans helps reduce inflammation of the skin caused by exposure to UV light.

Milk

Milk and other dairy products are rich in good quality protein. If you are worried about looking old, you need to consume more proteins which prevents wrinkling and sagging of skin.

Olive oil

It is a good source of MUFA (monounsaturated fatty acids) and omega 3. A serving of olive oil will give you the daily dose of healthy fats. Cooking in olive oil harms the structure of olive oil and transfigures it into a saturated fat. Olive oil is also excellent source of polyphenols, strong antioxidants, which are desired to balance the free radicals.

Cherries

Berries get their bright color from anthocyanins, an antioxidant which helps to keep the capillaries healthy, preventing the risks of varicose veins and tumor growth. Flavonoids from berries own anticancer properties and also develop the vascular endothelial function. Berries like amla, blueberries, cherries, cranberries, jamun, raspberries, strawberries and blackberries, help in maintaining the energy levels of cells and keep your skin healthy and supple.

Turmeric

Curcumin, anti-ageing factor in this wonder spice. Renders anti-inflammatory and antioxidation benefits, hence used traditionally for a healthy glowing skin.
