LB polls: PMLN leads in Punjab with record 1190 seats

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) won 1190 seats in the local government election and is likely to head local governments in all 12 districts, according to the unofficial results.

According to unconfirmed and unofficial results statistics, the independent candidates have emerged as the largest opposition with 1065 seats followed by the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf (PTI) managing 285 seats and relegated to the third position in Punjab although it had emerged the 2nd largest party in Punjab in the General Elections 2013.

The PPPP has won only 47 seats followed by the PML-Q 44 seats while Jamat e Islami and PAT succeeded to achieve only 02/02 seats.

In Bahawalnagar district, PML-N candidates have won 54 out of a total 274 seats with PTI won only 16 seats and the other parties and independents have bagged 203 seats.

In Faisalabad PML-N won 179 seats out of total of 468 seats, PTI 45 seats while 235 seats have been won by the independent candidates.

However, Amir Chaudhry, a close relative of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif lost the contst in Faislabad.

In Bhakkar district, PML-N has won 47 seats out of 123 seats and PTI have won only 2 while independents have bagged 74 seats.

In Kasur, PML-N has secured 140 seats out of a total of 293 seats with independent candidates managing 85 seats while the PTI could win 58 seats in the district.

In Okara district, PML-N has won 136 seats from a total number of 280 seats while independent candidates grabbed 96 seats while PTI won only 24 seats and other got 21.

In Pakpattan district, PML-N has won 60 out of a total of 138 seats, independent candidates have won 55, while PTI secured 21 seats.

In Chakwal district, PML-N has won 58 seats out of a total of 148 seats, independent candidates took 62 and PTI grabbed 16 while other parties received 9 seats.

In Vehari district, PML-N candidates have won 62 out of a total of 177 seats, PTI has bagged 25 while independents have won 86 seats.

In Gujrat district, PML-N has emerged victorious with PML-N candidates bagging 92 seats out of a total of 223 seats while PTI could win only 30 seats and independent candidates grabbed 49 seats.

In Lodhran district, PML-N has won 71 out of a total 140 seats with PTI candidates declared successful against 16 seats while 50 seats have been won by independent candidates.

In Nankana Sahib, PML-N candidate grabbed 71 out of 158 seats, independent candidates won 65 seats while the PTI candidates have secured 20 seats in the district.-APP
