ISLAMABAD: Federal finance minister Ishaq Dar Saturday has announced hike in petrol prices by 2.5 rupees per litre, TheNewsTribe.com reported.

Ishaq Dar, while addressing a press conference in Islamabad, announced that the deadline for tax returns is being increased by one month.

Dar said, Oil and gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) sent the summary to increase petrol prices by Rs.5.82 but Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif directed the ministry to increase the rate only by 2.5 rupees for petrol and 1.75 rupees for high speed diesel.

On the other hand, the prices of kerosene oil, high octane and light diesel will remain unchanged, though OGRA had suggested increasing the prices of these commodities as well.

Dar further said that PM ordered to not change the prices because of approaching winters, so the rates of the products will not be increased during the month of November.
