DHAKA: At least one person has lost his life while another 80 were seriously injured in a bomb attack on a shia mosque in Bangladeshi capital, Dhaka. as thousands gathered for the annual Ashura procession.
According to details thousands of people were gathered for the annual Ashura procession, a 14-year-old boy lost his life on the spot after three small bombs were thrown at the complex of the Hossaini Dalan in the old Mughal quarter of Dhaka, at about 2am Saturday.
More than 20,000 people were present in and outside the building at the time of blast.
police officials told media that“We’ve recovered two un exploded bombs. These are like explosive devices and almost like grenades and fitted with batteries.”
No one has yet took responsibility for the attack.
