KARACHI: Sindh government has announced a two-day public holiday schedule starting from 9th of Muharram.
The decision has been taken considering the recent wave of violence within the city during the month of Muharram.
The provincial government has issued a formal notification in this respect thus declaring October 23 and 24.
Earlier, Interior ministry of Pakistan has informed Interior ministry of Sindh about the cellular sevices ban on Muharram 10 in Karachi along with 6 more cities in the province.
According to details, cellular services to be suspended in the province’s capital Karachi along with Badeen, Shehdad Kot, Hyderabad, Larkana, Qambar.
Suspension of cellular services is for the safety and security of Moharram rallies in these cities and to avoid any big mishap in the province.
It is to be kept in mind that there are many high chances of militants to attack the Moharram rallies, many big cities has been cited sensitive.
