Pakistan-India series cancelled: Media reports | Thenewstribe.com

MUMBAI:  Pakistan-India test series scheduled in December of this year has been cancelled due to current situation, TheNewsTribe.com learnt from media reports.

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) sources revealed that he decision was taken a day after activists of Hindu extremist group Shiv Sena attacked the BCCI Headquarters in Mumbai and disrupted the meeting between Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Shahryar Khan and the BCCI President Shashank Manohar.

The Test series was scheduled in last month of this year but Indian news agency claimed that series will not be played in December 2015.

Pakistani pace stars and commentators Waseem Akram and Shoaib Akhtar are unlikely to be available for the fifth one-day international (ODI) between India and South Africa in Mumbai on Sunday after threats from Indian extremist group Shiv Sena.

According to sources, the former Pakistani cricketers will leave India after fourth ODI in Chennai on Friday.

The decision was taken a day after dozens of Shiv Sena fanatics stormed the headquarters of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and shouted anti-Pakistan slogans. They demanded that BCCI president Shashank Manohar cancel talks with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shahryar Khan that were planned in Mumbai on Monday.
