Information Minister KP resigns on party’s request

mushtaq-ghani

PESHAWAR: Minister of Information for Khyber Pakhunkhuwa Mushtaq Ghani on Tuesday morning has submitted his resignation to speaker KP Assembly Asad Qaisar.

Belonging to Abottabad, Mushtaq Ghani resigned from the post on party orders.

According to details, Ghni’s resignation was demanded to adjust two Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) ministers into the cabinet but constitutional complications halted the implementation.

As per 18th amendment in Constitution, no provincial assembly cabinet can keep more than 14 ministers.

KP Assembly already had 13 ministers and after adding 2 from (QWP), as per deal, the cabinet total was reaching to 15 which was unconstitutional.

To resolve the situation, Muahtaq Ghani was therefore asked his resignation.

Mushtaq Ghani was elected MPA on Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf’s ticket from Abottabad.

QWP’s Aftab Sherpaow and Aneesa will take oath today.
