Eat frequently 

Change your routine from three big meals a day to six smaller meals a day. In diabetes, your blood sugar accumulates and then is flushed out of your body, this can cause the sugar level to lower down and may cause weakness. You need to consume something after two or three hours in order to stabilize your blood sugar. It can also lower the cholesterol levels.

Smaller amount of fat is not bad for you

Fats are necessary for healthy cells and not only this but they are crucial in diabetes also. They keep you satisfied as you will not feel hungry after short whiles. So, add a tablespoon of almonds or walnuts, to your food. Add olive oil to your food as it is highly beneficial in diabetes.

Eat more vegetables

Vegetables are the most nutrient-dense and low calorie food of all. They do not raise blood sugar very much and add only a few calories. Though vegetables like potatoes, corn, peas, and winter squash should be excluded from the list as they are starchy.

Drink water frequently

Water helps in detoxifying kidneys, liver, dissolve vitamins and minerals and regulates the body temperature. It also pads the body from injury. Drinking enough water can help prevent diseases like kidney stones and lessens the chances of colon cancer.
