US President Obama halts withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan | Thenewstribe.com

WASHINGTON: The current American force in Afghanistan of 9,800 troops will remain in place through most of 2016 under the Obama administration’s revised plans.

American President Obama announced that about 5,500 at the end of next year or in early 2017 at the end of his term.

He said that some American troops will remain in Afghanistan to train Afghan troops. ” We want to fully train the Afghan troops,” American president said.

Obama claimed that operations in Pakistan against terrorists put pressure on Al-Qaeda. “Terrorists escaped from Pakistan and arrived at Afghanistan after operation against terrorists.,” he added.
